TURANDoT

Is a prestigious collection of jewellery based on motifs of a traditional Chinese story of Princess Turandot.

The collection was created in cooperation with Slovene National Theatre Maribor and the Director of Puccini´s opera Turandot, Fillip Tonon.

The heart of the collection is an offensively egoistical character of the stubborn princess, whereas rich symbolism and unsolvable riddles are transformed into a dramatic and unique jewellery of royal colours by using modern approach of design.

The core of the collection is an interlacement of elements – circle with a square; contrast of colours – black- white; harmony of different shapes – straight lines combined with curved ones; combining materials – leather with pearls and stones, and unique inspirational details connecting the designer´s story.

Designer develops and plays with the idea of cube-like jin-jang, discovering complete contrast of the sacred form of two worlds – Eastern world, where circle has always been a perfection and Western one, where circle in art presents an unstable shape without a solid anchorage. Designer, unconcerned about using a circle or a square, cold-bloodedly combined a circle and a square in her own aesthetic manner. By that, she gained a shape of perfect harmony and balance pointing out an ideal in a chaotic time of social overthrows (in past in present).
