The MoKoŠ project is inspired by female deities of the ancient Slavic cultural heritage. Women who thousands of years ago were considered to be the most important part of society and were praised as goddesses, had their own patrons, the goddesses. Through the perspective of unique E2RD necklace creations and illustrations by Mojca Krajnc, the MoKoŠ project presents 7 goddesses:
• MoKoš, goddess of fertility
• ŽIVA, fertility goddess who brings life
• VESNA, goddess of spring and youth
• LADA or VLASTA, goddess of love
• DILVIKA, goddess of the hunt
• MoRANA, goddess of death
• DoGANA, goddess of morning and evening dawn.
Since jewellery is one of the oldest forms of body decoration, the project is a vessel for the artists to actualize the forgotten stories and explore the culture of wearing jewellery. They present it as a form of communication; as a language expressing messages.
Mojca Krajnc (1978)
is a younger generation illustrator, graphic designer and painter. Her work is not limited by a particular style or motif; she draws influences from the world of fashion, design, glamour, eroticism, humour and life in general. Her projects are fun and colourful, sometimes also minimalist and purified. As part of the MoKoŠ project, she is presenting a modern interpretation of the seven Slavic goddesses. Fashion illustrations connect the story into a poetic whole, which dates back to the past and reminds us that the typology of goddesses is still relevant today.
With goddesses, decorated with pieces from the MoKoŠ collection, eloquently showing their new images, the project combines the energy of both artists.
